[This is an issue dedicated to beauty. Black beauty.
It’s a tribute to black women: singers, actresses, performers, models whose style has influenced the aesthetic path of our time. An undeniable charm, the one of black beauty, which has marked fashion since the seventies, when Yves Saint Laurent an Paco Rabanne made the first black mannequins to walk on the runway.
Charismatic personalities like the one of Donyale Luna, solemn and eclectic, Pat Cleveland, ironic and sunny, or Iman, ethereal and aristocratic, that have confirmed and amplified the success of many fashion designers.
As if the fashion had chosen to crystallize a model of iconic beauty, from the nineties to today Naomi has been their undisputed heir, with Tyra Banks, Alek Wek, Liya Kebede. This is a tribute to them and to all the others black ladies that will impose themselves on the runway. With best wishes from "Vogue Italia".]
